Of all the people who could have been traded, why Masterson? I was entirely blindsided and devastated because I was convinced that Clayboy was going. The Sox have added someone to their bullpen! David Aardsma (whose name comes before aardvark in the dictionary!) is on his way here from the White Sox. In return, Boston is sending Chicago two prospects, Willy Mota and Miguel Socolovich. It's the first deal I've seen in a while, so it's enough to wake me up.

This morning ESPN decided to bring up Santana again as I was eating breakfast and reviewing my Japanese. The newest verdict is that Santana will probably end up somewhere in New York before spring training, although whether he'll be with the Yankees or the Mets is still up in the air.
